Analysis of Antistatic and Conductivity of TPE Elastomer

The continuous development and improvement of the thermoplastic elastomer TPE material industry has been gradually used in all walks of life, and the requirements for materials are becoming more and more stringent, such as the research and development of special materials such as flame retardant, high elasticity, and abrasion resistance. With the continuous improvement of materials and continuous innovation of products, the requirements of conductive TPE materials are also the inevitable result of market development.    Conductive rubber is to evenly distribute conductive particles such as glass silver-plated, aluminum-plated silver, and silver in rubber (usually silicone rubber), and the conductive particles are contacted by pressure to achieve good conductivity. It has applications in both military and commerce. Its main function is sealing and electromagnetic shielding. The product can be molded or extruded, and there are sheets or other punching shapes to choose from. When the conductive particles filled in the conductive rubber are filled with a certain volume fraction, they will contact each other to form a continuous state of electrons, thus having conductivity. Conductive rubber must be subjected to a certain compression force in order to conduct good conduction, and the structural design must ensure that the appropriate pressure is not overpressured. The main function of conductive rubber is sealing and electromagnetic shielding. It is often used in some electronic material components and has important applications in the aerospace and military industries.    The conductivity of TPE material. According to the surface resistance of the material, in terms of dielectric properties, TPE can be divided into the following three categories: 1. The surface resistance value of the product reaches 10 to the 13th power or more, which is an insulation grade TPE 2. The surface resistance of the product reaches 10 to the power of 5-12, which is anti-static TPE    3. The surface resistance value of the product reaches 10 to the 5th power or less is conductive grade TPE.    There is still a certain difference between anti-static TPE and conductive TPE. The usual TPEs are all anti-static grade materials. As far as anti-static is concerned, in actual cases, the surface resistance values of products required by different customers may be different, and sometimes there may be certain restrictive requirements for the TPE compounding system. To make TPE conductive, special material modification is required. TPE and rubber have a molecular chain structure with a certain degree of similarity. According to the above rubber modification ideas, TPE seems to be able to imitate. However, it is necessary to fully consider the similarities and differences between the TPE compounding system and silicone rubber. The TPE compounding system is more complicated, and the compatibility of the phase structure of each component, the uniformity of blending and dispersion, etc. need to be considered. At present, TPE on the market mostly uses antistatic as its selling point. To be truly conductive, there are still high requirements for technology research and development. At the same time, the above reasons also force the world to develop bio-based alternatives to synthetic thermoplastic elastomers. It is also a more economical solution to meet the market's growing demand for clean thermoplastic elastomers.

Smart wearable devices: the era of wireless technology

On March 26, Huawei exposed a very unique Bluetooth headset during its new product launch conference. It is called Huawei EyeWear, which is a combination of Bluetooth headset and glasses, which supports light touch to turn on and wireless charging. Coincidentally, the second-generation AirPods that have just been put on the shelves also use wireless charging technology. What happened to mobile phone manufacturers? Bluetooth headset itself is a "wireless" headset developed to get rid of the shackles of wired. The adaptability of this technology with wireless charging is actually relatively high.    With the wirelessization of various mobile phone accessories, their charging has also become a problem; the use of line charging will be more cumbersome, and it is unnecessary and too wasteful to equip multiple chargers. And wireless charging can solve this problem very well. It is simple and convenient to charge mobile phones and earphones.    The relatively prosperous reverse wireless charging in the mobile phone field also has a strong stimulus effect on accessory products and promotes the upgrade of wireless charging for earphones.    In fact, at this stage, we can not only see many Bluetooth headsets that support wireless charging, but in other accessory products, wireless charging is also glowing. For example, the second-generation Apple Pencil can be directly attached to the side of the iPad Pro for charging. The new iPhone battery back clip also comes with wireless charging. There are more smart wearable manufacturers who carry it into various bracelets and jewellery to bring customers different surprises. For example, a domestic company has launched a smart jewelry bracelet, which looks no different from the outside. However, a very small receiving chip is built in the jewelry, and the magnetic resonance wireless charging technology of the domestic microgoose is used, so that the small chip can also have a long enough charging distance, and realize the dual combination of the beauty and practicality of smart jewelry.
