  There are some special products that need to be sprayed on top of /TPR materials, in fact, there will be special considerations when spraying, the main component of the general paint is resin, its role is to make the pigment bonded to the surface of the rubber parts. The general TPE paint used is aromatic and ketone based.

  TPE/TPR finance will be sprayed with oil the main precautions.

  A. Solvent reasons

  For general hard body general material such as ABS and HIPS to say, the paint will usually be combined with a weaker chemical properties of the solvent. To ensure that the rubber parts in the spray oil can still maintain a smooth surface without loss of physical strength.

  On the other hand, soft-bodied general purpose, such as PVC, is usually combined with a solvent with stronger chemical properties. Since soft body parts have a certain degree of deformation and elongation, strong solvents can ensure that the paint sticks firmly to the parts, so that even if the soft plastic material is deformed, it is not easy to detach.

  TPE combines the characteristics of soft and hard rubber into one. If there is a problem when spraying oil, it is often due to a mistake in choosing the solvent, which can lead to burning and degreasing.

  1. burn glue - mainly occurs in the TPE hardness of more than 70 degrees of the plastic parts, because the solvent used is too strong, in contact with the plastic parts when the surface is seriously corroded, and leave a line of traces, that is, the so-called burn glue occurred.

  2. Oil loss - It mainly happens to the plastic parts with TPE hardness less than 70 degrees. Because the solvent used is too weak, the paint can not be firmly attached to the surface of the plastic parts. Once the soft plastic parts are deformed, the paint itself cannot follow the shape change, causing the surface layer to be separated, resulting in oil release.

  Second, the design of molded parts

  If the surface of the product is uneven, such as the face of the doll, the situation of burning glue often occurs. The reason is that the uneven part usually has solvent accumulation, and the chance of burning glue increases naturally.

  Third, the water mouth material (copy) composition is too much

  Manufacturers will generally add different proportions of water mouth material into the production. But the water mouth material will make the rubber parts of the chemical resistance is reduced, when the pure raw material products can withstand the solvent, for the products containing water mouth material is too strong, so there is burning glue situation.

  Fourth, containing PP or PE ingredients

  Some TPEs contain PP or PE to enhance the adhesion performance. However, PP and PE are chemically resistant rubber, so the oil spraying performance of such TPE products is poor.

  As for the solvent, mainly used to dilute the resin, and erode the surface of the adhesive parts, so that the adhesive parts have more surface area for bonding purposes. In terms of paint, generally aromatics and ketones are the main ones.

  As for the color powder and additives, they provide color for the paint itself and reduce the occurrence of foaming.
