TPE Materials: Non-Toxic, Eco-Friendly Characteristics and Applications

TPE materials are environmentally friendly and non-toxic, and they are non-toxic materials that do not produce environmental hormones. Moreover, TPE has anti-slip and wear-resistant effects. When overmolded with hard plastics, it has good adhesion to the polypropylene (PP) main material. The combination of the two materials (hard and soft) with two-color matching allows PP to provide the strength of the cutting board, while TPE provides anti-slip properties for the cutting board and enhances the product's aesthetics. Compared with ordinary plastics, the TPU design with 3-4 times higher strength added will not produce odors. TPE materials have the following characteristics:
1. Superior hand feel: High strength; high resilience; high flexibility; fine and smooth; not sticky to dust.
2. Excellent performance: UV resistance; aging resistance; acid and alkali resistance; fatigue resistance.
3. Easy to process: Good fluidity; light specific gravity; easy to color. Suitable for injection molding and extrusion processing.
4. Green and environmentally friendly: Meet FDA (n-hexane) and LFGB (olive oil) testing standards.
5. Molding process: First clean the machine with PP (polypropylene); molding temperature is 180-210℃.
6. Application fields: Baby products; medical supplies; tableware; daily necessities; kitchen and bathroom supplies; and other environmentally friendly products that require food-grade standards. (Can be overmolded with PP and PE through secondary injection molding).
7. Processing methods: Injection molding or extrusion molding.
In recent years, TPE materials have been increasingly used in industries such as food packaging materials, kitchenware and tableware, and baby products. This also includes applications in the medical industry: suction bulbs, instrument handles, medical casters, straps, containers, gas masks, various pipes, bottle stoppers, and related medical supplies, etc. Therefore, TPE materials are completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
