Exploring New Applications of TPE Materials in Toy Manufacturing: The Development Journey of ER20A Toy Doll Hands and Feet Materials

I. Product Overview

Product Model: ER20A-WJS

Product Introduction: The ER20A-WJS is a TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) material specifically designed for doll manufacturing. It features a matte texture and is ideal for producing doll limbs as well as for applications requiring the encapsulation of metal parts with rubber-like coatings. Thanks to its unique physical properties and excellent molding performance, this material has become the preferred choice in the toy manufacturing industry.

II. Physical Properties and Performance

  1. Excellent Flexural Resistance: The ER20A-WJS material boasts outstanding flexural resistance, enabling it to withstand repeated bending without deformation and ensuring the durability and stability of the doll’s limbs and joints.
  2. High fluidity: This material exhibits excellent fluidity, enabling it to rapidly fill molds during the molding process, thereby boosting production efficiency while ensuring sharp detail definition and dimensional accuracy in the finished products.
  3. Excellent formability: The ER20A-WJS material boasts outstanding formability, making it suitable for a wide variety of mold designs and enabling the effortless production of doll components with intricate shapes and precise dimensions.
  4. Single-molding: This material supports single-molding without relying on other materials, thereby reducing production costs and process complexity.

III. Application Cases

Application Background: In the manufacturing process of doll toys, the encapsulation of hand and foot parts as well as metal components is a critical step. Traditional toy materials suffer from shortcomings in terms of fold resistance, fluidity, and moldability, making it difficult to meet the demands of high-quality doll production. Therefore, the customer has begun seeking a new TPE material that can serve as a replacement for conventional materials.

Customer requirements: The customer requires the material to have excellent weather resistance, toughness, and fold resistance, ensuring that the doll maintains its original appearance and performance even after prolonged use.

Import process:

  1. First trial use: The customer initially tested the ER20A-YZ-1 material, but during the molding process, they discovered flow marks in the product, which failed to meet the customer’s quality requirements.
  2. Re-development: In response to the issues raised by customer feedback, we re-developed the material and conducted sample testing. After numerous rounds of optimization and adjustments, we finally launched the ER20A-WJS material. This material excels in terms of fold resistance, fluidity, and moldability, fully meeting the customer’s requirements for doll-making materials.

IV. Summary

ER20A-WJS, a TPE material specifically designed for doll manufacturing, has successfully replaced traditional materials thanks to its outstanding physical properties and excellent molding performance, providing customers with a high-quality, low-cost solution for doll production.
