Vivo released its first truly wireless noise cancelling headphones, Vivo TWS 2, filling the gap of active noise cancelling headphones in its own product line. It is reported that OPPO's new generation Enco Free noise cancelling headphones will also be released on May 27.

From the product naming, it is easy to find that the above four brands released headphones are "noise cancellation" as the main selling point, which is behind both the insight of the market trend, but also the Android camp is brewing in the next "misalignment strike".

"Civilian noise cancellation"

Noise canceling headphones is not an emerging concept. As early as 1989, BOSE launched the first commercial noise-canceling headphones, 2016, Sony applied this technology to Bluetooth headphones, launched the famous MDR-1000X.

In 2019, the active noise cancellation headphones Airpods Pro were released, and with Apple's large user base, the headphones tied the sales of their predecessors in the six months after their release.

However, the pricing of 1999 yuan still makes more potential users discouraged from buying plans. What's more, as a mass-produced custom IoT product for IOS system, its adaptability with the Android system is not good, some functions in the Android phone can not use the situation.

This allows the domestic Android manufacturers to see the opportunity. Two months after Apple released Airpods Pro, Huawei took the lead in launching the first active wireless noise cancellation headphones Freebuds, the price of 1,399 yuan has been favored by many consumers. Subsequently, the domestic cell phone manufacturers have launched their own wireless noise cancellation headphones, and the price is basically below the thousand-dollar grade, significantly increasing the user base of such wireless noise cancellation headphones.

And the focus of the manufacturers for the function of noise cancellation is also very different.

Huawei focus on "comfort", dedicated to noise reduction at the same time, to provide users with the most comfortable wearing experience. Its new Freebuds4 through the combination of dual-microphone hybrid noise reduction + semi-open adaptive technology, so that this generation of products have a greater noise reduction capacity than the previous generation of products. However, due to the insistence on the semi-ear design, its 25dB noise reduction depth is still at the bottom of the same type of product.

In contrast, Xiaomi pays more attention to "call". Its new Flipbuds Pro through the built-in three microphone synergy, with Qualcomm QCC5151 chip on the external environment sound and human voice precise processing, can achieve in picking up the human voice at the same time, excluding the interference of environmental noise, to provide a clearer call effect.

Vivo's new Vivo TWS 2 is highlighted as "intelligent". Through self-developed noise reduction algorithm, accurately identify changes in environmental noise, and automatically adjust the noise reduction depth, to bring users just the right noise reduction experience, but also accurately sense the user's wearing state, to maintain a consistent noise reduction effect.

It is worth mentioning that Vivo TWS 2 gives 499 yuan pricing, is currently the lowest of the three headphones on sale. But the noise reduction performance is excellent, 40dB noise reduction depth has basically covered the road vehicle noise, this achievement is more outstanding than the industry benchmark product Airpods Pro.
