The density of TPE materials varies, depending on whether they contain fillers or not. TPE materials are elastomeric particles blended from SEBS base material and other mixtures. Therefore, the higher the density of TPE, the more fillers it contains.
TPE materials can be made from imported or domestically produced raw materials, and there may be differences in density between the two. The normal density range is between 0.92 and 0.98.
The density of TPE materials can be adjusted between 0.84 and 2.0. Generally, the specific gravity of TPE and TPR soft materials used in injection molding is around 0.9 to 1.25. Some special TPE and TPR materials have lower or ultra-high specific gravities. Increasing the specific gravity can reduce product costs, but it may also decrease the tensile strength, elasticity, and wear resistance of the materials.
