Before some users asked how to do TPE transparent material? Or TPE how to do more transparent and so on technical issues. Today, plastic uncle for you to introduce the TPE material whitening tips.

White is a color that contains all the colors of light in the spectrum and is usually considered "colorless". White has the highest brightness and no color phase. However, it does not have a strong personality and does not evoke taste associations, but white should not be absent from the color that arouses appetite, because it indicates cleanliness and deliciousness. TPE pelletizing manufacturers even reach the point of faultfinding when it comes to white.

Speaking of TPE whitening must be mentioned coloring agent, and speaking of coloring agent has to mention the coloring agent several important parameters.

  1. Coloring power

Coloring power is the configuration of a certain color is the amount of coloring agent added, the general coloring power is expressed as a percentage of the coloring power of the standard sample. Common white colorant coloring power as follows:

  Lead white: 200

  Zinc titanium white: 7.7

  Lead sulfate: 235.3

  Anatase titanium white: 16

  Rutile titanium white: 12.5

As you can see above, titanium dioxide is not the strongest coloring power, but in addition to the coloring power, the toxicity of the colorant also has a great impact. The coloring power of the colorant is related to its nature, but also to its TPE particle size. The larger the particle size, the better the dispersion, the higher the coloring power. But the particle size has a limit value, more than the limit value will reduce the coloring power.

  2. Covering power

Covering power refers to the ability to cover the underlying color on the surface of the object, and it is generally used as the number of grams of colorant required per square meter. The smaller the number of grams required, the stronger the covering power. Covering power is 45-50g/m2 for titanium dioxide, 100g/m2 for zinc white, 137g/m2 for zinc titanium dioxide, and 137g/m2 for lead white. titanium dioxide has the strongest covering power.

Like coloring power, particle size also has an effect on covering power, the larger the particle size, the greater the covering power, and there is also a limit value.

  3. Dispersion

The dispersion of colorant refers to the uniformity of dispersion in TPE material, and the good or bad dispersion affects the coloring power and covering power. Common white colorant will be blue if the dispersion is good, and will be yellow if the dispersion is poor. Dispersion can be improved by grinding, blending, using surface treatment agents and other methods.

In addition to the above points, heat resistance, light resistance, migration resistance, toxicity, etc. are also properties that affect the performance of colorants. Common white white colorants are titanium dioxide, zinc dioxide, zinc oxide, etc.. Among them, titanium dioxide is divided into rutile and anatase, rutile can shield ultraviolet light, mainly for outdoor use, anatase mainly for indoor use.
